Once we checked into the hotel, we went to the Dubai heritage muesum and some of the suoks. We visited the souks a bit on both days. What a neat place. Everything set out in these narrow alleys - the colours of the fabrics, the neat spices in the bins, kitchen gadgets, and then the gold souks (no Wayne did not buy me any souvineers at the gold souk).
The evening of the first day we went to supper at a restraunt that was beside the water. Everything was yummy! Dubai has their very own Easter Island look-alike (just like in the "night of the museum") :)
The next morning we saw some more souks, rode on a water taxi and went for a private boat ride up the river. Everything you can imagine is brought in by boat - from watermelons to pick-up trucks... Very neat!
We saw a bus/boat (aquabus). Patrick thought it was very cool, because we saw it in the water and then again as we were leaving driving on the road beside us.
